The Ministry of Health has discharged 3 people who had earlier tested positive for Covid-19 but have since made recovery.

In a statement issued Thursday, Dr. Henry Mwebesa, the Director General of Health Services assured the country that the three cases tested negative twice after treatment.

This week has seen a drop in new cases. For two consecutive days (Monday and Tuesday). Uganda did not register any new case. One case was registered Wednesday while Thursday recorded no new case.

In his Wednesday address to the nation, President Yoweri Museveni reiterated that the crisis that Uganda and the rest of the world is faced with is one where convenience is not an option. It is a matter of life and death, he said, urging the public to take it seriously.

He banned all outdoor physical exercises in a bid to prevent gatherings of people and slow the spread of coronavirus.

On Thursday, Uganda tested a total of 338 samples which all tested negative. Uganda’s confirmed cases stand at 53 with no deaths.

At least 3.862 samples have been tested since March 21.

Health officials continue to appeal to the public to remain calm and avoid stigmatizing families and people taken into quarantine or in hospitals for isolation.
