James Toback an American writer and movie director  has been accused of sexual harassment by 38 women in a report published by US paper.

Many of the women allege that the Oscar nominee for writing Bugsy movie, approached them on the streets of New York City and promised stardom. His meetings would often end with sexual questions and Toback masturbating in front of them.

Louise Post, a guitarist with alternative rock band Veruca Salt, said she had carried around the incident with Toback for three decades.

“He told me he would love nothing more than to masturbate while looking into my eyes,” she told the newspaper.

“Going to his apartment has been the source of shame for the past 30years that allowed myself to be gullible,” she added.

Actress Adrienne La Valley alleged that in 2008 Toback had attempted to rub himself against her, ejaculating in his pants in front of her.

“The way he presented it, it was like, and this is how things are done,” La Valley said.

She added, “I felt like a prostitute, an utter disappointment to myself, my parents, and my friends. And I deserved not to tell anyone.”

Of the 38 women who shared their stories with the newspaper, more than 30 spoke on record about the allegations which were denied by the director.

The allegations come in the wake of the Weinstein allegations of sexual assault and rape that have left Holly wood reeling.
