KATAKWI– As the clock to 2021 general elections ticks faster by the day, several incumbents have started dusting their shoes in anticipation for the ‘Who is who’ in the next August house.
During the 2016 parliamentary campaigns, candidates poured out heavenly promises to their electorates, who (at that time) jumped and clapped to the excitement of the ‘promisers’.
Today, in Katakwi district, the Woman MP, Violet Akurut Adome and her partner in ‘political crime’, Peter Ogwang (Usuk County), returned to their constituencies to do the needful – fulfilling what they promised.
The duo today toured Katakwi, meeting the Micro Women Project Groups of Alukocok, Angodingod and Kapujan parishes. Each parish constituiting 6 villages was given 30 million shillings, 18 women groups from 18 villages got each 5million.
The Swaggarific Akurut and Ogwang told the ecstatic women that their ‘Alliance’ is planning to buy sheep to the already flourishing groups.
“We thank President Museveni for empowering women of Katakwi District. Tomorrow, women groups of Okuda parish and Odoot will also get 30m per parish,” Akurut and Ogwang summed up to our snoop.
