Ugandan musician, blogger and People Power activist Michael Kalinda alias Ziggy Wine, has died from injuries sustained during his torturous ordeal.
The member of the Firebase Crew was abducted by unknown people while on his way to the recording studios in Kamwokya on July 21 and later found dumped at Mulago with his eye plucked out and two fingers snipped off.
Bobi Wine, confirmed Ziggy’s death that happened on Sunday night at Mulago National Referral hospital.
“Last night, my brother, friend and fellow artiste Ziggy Wyne passed on at Mulago hospital,” he posted on his facebook timeline on Monday.
According to reports, Ziggy Wine had burns on his upper body which were allegedly from a flat iron.
On Saturday August 3, Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango said that Police had not yet received any reports about the alleged kidnap because the family had chosen to keep it to themselves. He however noted that Police was to launch an investigation in the matter to bring the suspects to book.
Ziggy Wine was a musician and social media manager in the Fire base entertainment crew which is led by Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.
