Uganda’s top-ranked female kickboxer Patricia Apolot on Saturday night crushed Kenya’s Joyce Awino to retain her continental title.
This much anticipated fight dubbed “The Revelation” took place at Smiles Corner Hotel in Kireka.
The two fighters started the first round in a low tone with the purpose of learning the opponent’s tactics but it all changed in the second round when Apolot stepped in with aggressive nonstop punches.
Awino was forced to surrender in the third round when Apolot’s non stop punches kept on raining.

According to the rules of boxing, an opponent is allowed to throw in a white towel as a sign of surrendering to avoid excessive punishment.
In April 2019, the two fighters met in Tororo and Apolot alias The Black Pearl came out Victorious. Awino blamed her self for luck of enough fitness prompting her to ask for a rematch which eventually saw her receiving a lifetime lesson.
