Busoga United on Wednesday defeated BULFC in the Star-Times Uganda Premier league at the Njeru based FUFA technical Centre.
The goals were scored by Boban Zilintusa in the 72nd minute, Joel Madondo 80th minute, and Lawrence Tezikya netted the third goal in the last minute of added minute.
Both teams who own a fan base in Busoga sub-region were this season ordered to host matches at the FUFA Technical centre after their Jinja based home grounds failed to meet the FUFA standards of an all green belt pitch.
Busoga United will host BULFC at the same pitch in the second round of the league.
BULFC’s head coach, Peter Onen says that his team succumbed to their hosts due to lack of organisation in the second half of the match.
“We lost the match due to lack of focus, some of my defenders moved from their positions causing us today’s loss,” he says.
Meanwhile, Abby Kikomeko, the head coach of Busoga United States says that the victory is a wakeup call to the team after suffering losses in the first matches of the season.
“My team has played their best though lost all the first matches of the season, and today’s performance was just a wake-up call to the team ahead of other matches,” he says.
