Every once in a while, those with homes think of making improvements that can match the modern trends in home design and construction. However in Uganda, the providers of services of home maintenance and improvement are limited.

Maintenance Masters (Uganda) Limited are one of the few that could be available with such services.

In our visit to their offices at Mbogo Road, off 8^th Street Industrial Area in Kampala, we spoke to Mr.Charles N.Mukose who gave us insight into what they do.

Monday Times: What exactly does Maintenance Masters do?

Mr.Charles N.Mukose: We are providers of home improvement and maintenance services. Amongst the many things we do within this scope, we have construction, building maintenance, repairs, renovations, remodeling, and property management.

We can say a lot about each. For construction we do everything from architectural plans to the actual ground breaking and setting up the installation from start to finish. For building maintenance, we look after buildings so that they do not depreciate fast. In repairs and renovations, when a building has depreciated we can repair it to revive its decent look. We can repair and renovate part or all of the building. When it comes to remodeling, we change buildings from their original designs to new and updated ones. Lastly we manage property for those who find it cumbersome to do it by themselves.

Monday Times: This is exciting. So how different are you from those who might do such similar services?

Mr.Charles N.Mukose: Our work is durable. When we renovate, you will not see things falling apart the next day. We are also very experienced and skilled. We are professional.

Perhaps I should add that it is not common to find such a service in our country. We mainly have people who contract.

Because we have a blend of services, we can say we are a one stop centre.

Monday Times: What are your working hours and days?

Mr.Charles N.Mukose: It depends but we can say we are available 24 hours a day.

Monday Times: How are your prices like?

Mr.Charles N.Mukose: Our prices are fair and affordable.

Monday Times: If someone is going to remodel their house, what advice would you give them?

Mr.Charles N.Mukose:They need to know and tell us the purpose of the building. They also need to understand the cost and they could provide the original plan so that we make an assessment of how to go about it.

Monday Times: Do people have to come to your office to get your service?

Mr.Charles N.Mukose: They can but we insist on going where they are so that we see what is required. We need to see the property and make assessment before we can quote.
