Royikems Industries Limited is a leading manufacturer of durable and high quality mattresses of all sizes and types in Uganda. The company also manufactures five star disposable plastics that are used across East Africa.
Both products can be found as far as East Africa, where different clientele have taken advantage of their products to their satisfaction.
Today we met with Ritah Kasana the Public Relations Officer of Royikems Industries Limited who spoke to us in detail about what they do. We bring to you her interview which had a lot of information related to the company.
Monday Times: What exactly does Royikems Industries Limited do?
Ritah Kasana: Specifically we deal in two sections. We deal in mattresses, and five star disposable plastics. So we have different categories of mattresses that we produce. For example: Open end. Open end is that type of mattress where one side is open and so you can remove the cover and wash it and put it back. It is specifically recommended for primary children. Within Open end we baby cots which are recommended for babies from zero age up to three years. They are recommended for pregnant mothers and those who want to give gifts on baby showers.
The other type is tape end mattress. This type of mattress is this type which is sealed. You cannot remove the mattress cover and wash it. But you can buy a mattress cover and then keep washing that mattress cover so the inner mattress is clean. So you save it from getting dirty and the child cannot pluck it. We recommend it from Secondary Students and any other person who wishes to buy it.
We also have deluxe mattress. This one for it is still in Rose Foam. But the only difference is the covering. The way we wrap it, its cloth is covered and it is very smooth and attractive. Mostly we recommend it for University Student and hotels and guest houses.
Then we have high density for it is thick and very comfortable. It is not so hard and it is not so soft. It is moderate. It is recommended from everyone.
We also have orthopedic mattresses. These are recommended by medical practitioners because it helps you with back ache and joint problems. But anyone can still get them because prevention is better than care.
We also have mackintosh mattresses/PVC mattresses. These are the hospital mattresses. We also recommend them for homes because it is water proof especially for children and old people. The water proof of hard leather covers the mattress. Instead of removing to wash, you can simply clean by wiping it.
We also produce cushions, pillows, and more.
Lastly we have special orders mattresses for example round mattresses or any other shape that someone may come in with. If you want a mattress that looks like a fish, we have experts who do it.

Monday Times How about Five Star Disposable Plastics, what is involved in this product range from Royikems Industries Limited?
Ritah Kasana: For five star disposable plastics, it is also a product, produced or made by us. It contains different categories of disposables. We have cups for ice creams, cups for beers etc. Any cup for a drink in different milligrams. We also have punnets (it is a disposable dish) because people are outliving disposable plates. It is used for packing food, bakeries (cakes) and other different things like cookies. They are also in various types
We also have round and partitioned plates.
Monday Times: How different are your products from others who might be making these products?
Ritah Kasana: We have high standard quality measures that have kept us in the market. Our prices are also favorable and affordable.
Monday Times: Do you deliver your products to your clients?
Ritah Kasana: We have free transportation services to deliver our products to our customers across the country. But we also have different outlets across the country to make it easier for our clients to acquire our products with ease.
Monday Times: What are your working hours and days?
Ritah Kasana: Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm. We work throughout the year although we close on public holidays.

Ritah Kasana: Our main branch is Block 172 plot 282 Mbalala Industrial Area,Mukono Jinja Road. However we also have different outlets such as: Channel Street Sekaziga Shopping Centre (Kampala), Nateete Opposite Shell, Gayaza at the Round About, Paidha, Banda at Nabisunsa Stage, and Jinja Aldina Road (Central Market Building)
