Elite Divas Salon is a unisex Salon located in the heart of Kampala Uganda. Found on Burton Arcade close to Pioneer Mall, the Salon offers a unique beauty experience for its customers who throng the place every single day of the month.
In our visit to Elite Divas Salon, we spoke to the management, who shared their secrets of success and what they do for their clients on a daily basis.
Monday Times: Good afternoon Sir. We have heard about Elite Divas Salon for sometime. What do you exactly offer at this wonderful place?
Management of Elite Divas Salon: Our Salon can be best described as a beauty centre. We do all hair treatment and hairstyles for men, women, children and Bazungu (whites). We do haircuts for both men and women, and children. Some of the styles that we do include braids, perm, wetlook, dread locks and more.
We have bridal services for both men and women, and can handle the entire bridal entourage for all their functions. This means that we can handle them from Kukyala to Introduction or Okuhingira up to the wedding and even the honeymoon.
We do skin care, facial, and facial scrub. We offer head, shoulder and body massage for our customers.
At our Salon we do pedicure and manicure and much more.
Monday Times: This is interesting to know. Now that there are many other Salons around, what can you say is the thing that makes you different from others?
Management of Elite Divas Salon: Our point of difference comes from our service. Our staff are dedicated to making sure that the customer gets the best of what they need. The staff are very experienced, trained and we keep orienting them to the changing nature of the beauty industry. For example every time a new hairstyle comes, we make sure they learn how to make it.
Of course, as you have seen, we are very near the road. If you are to look for us, you will not find it difficult to reach here.
Monday Times: Okay. Now when can a customer find you open in the week?
Management of Elite Divas Salon: We open from Monday to Sunday, from 8am to 9pm. But we can make special arrangements for someone who is coming before or after if they call us in advance and let us know.
Monday Times: This is great. How about mobile service? There are some people who would want you to go to where they are. Is it something that you can organize, if the customer is willing to pay for it?
Management of Elite Divas Salon: Yes we are willing and able to do it. Although as per now we are mainly doing mobile for events where customers want us to do their hair from the venue. But we can still go to someone’s office or home as long as we agree on what it entails and how much it could cost.
Monday Times: Excellent. Speaking of cost. How are your prices like? You have very serious equipment here. You must be expensive.
Management of Elite Divas Salon: No we are not that expensive. Of course we had to invest a lot in equipment that can serve our clients. But we are much more affordable than many of the other service providers around us.
Monday Times: Okay. Do you do training or internships for students or people who want to learn about this work?
Management of Elite Divas Salon: Yes we can do training or internships for such people. We charge a modest fee that they can afford and give them practical exposure to our work. All they need is to contact us.
Monday Times: Nice. Now how do you handle someone who has a rough facial skin and feels very uncomfortable going out in public?
Management of Elite Divas Salon: We definitely have something for someone with that condition. But in principle we start by establishing why the skin is that way. Sometimes it is a disease, sometimes it is caused by the weather and so many factors. Depending on what it is we can advise. We start with offering a good facial scrub accompanied by oils after washing through the dirt of the skin.
