Advertising agencies who control a large stake in advertising revenue allocation are on tenterhooks following Ruparelia Group’s establishment of Premier Advertising Agency. The agency occupies a whole floor in one of Dr.Sudhir Ruparelia’s buildings in the city. It is managed by Naiya Ruparelia, the wife to Rajiv Ruparelia, the heir apparent of Sudhir Ruparelia.
“Premier Advertising is a very big establishment. It has different people focusing on different aspects of advertising. Some are looking at online, others at print, some at radio and others at television,” Kizza Mukasa an advertising expert said of the company.
The first loss that advertising agencies made was the shift of all advertising management of Ruparelia Group companies from their stables to Premier Advertising. Industry experts say the aggressiveness with which Premier Advertising is working definitely means that they will give other players a run for their money.
The advertising industry has been struggling for the last three years. As the economy slows down further, clients are looking at internal approaches to managing advertising in different platforms of exposure. Some have hired staff from the traditional agencies, while others have set up their own agencies and worked with their home grown teams.
Advertising agencies earn a commission for managing the publicity and promotion for their clients.
