The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations is underway, with 24 teams competing for glory in Egypt.
Holders Cameroon are out to defend their 2017 triumph, with hosts Egypt hoping to avenge that 2-1 defeat in that final with victory on home soil this time around.
Senegal have been marked out as early favourites for the tournament, and Sadio Mane will likely go head to head with Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah – already off the mark for Egypt – for the golden boot.
Memorable past winners of the prize have included Rashidi Yekini, Patrick Mboma and Samuel Eto’o, and serve as a reminder that players can write themselves into the history books with a strong tournament.
Only three players have been able to score two goals each in the tournament.
But who will be collecting the Golden Boot at the end of this year’s competition? Here’s how things stand so far…
