Arsenal is preparing for life after Wenger, with a number of appointments destined to safeguard the club’s future. The Frenchman who has been at the club for at least 22 years, might be serving his last two year contract.
Pressure from fans has driven the Arsenal board to start thinking about the club after him. His advanced age of 68 also points to a shorter spell at the club in future.

Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal’s Chief Executive Officer has made some key appointments that include Sven Mislintat.Mislintat was recruited from Borussia Dortmund. He is a well known and highly rated player scout, who is expected to realign the team priorities for the club. Mislintat is head of recruitment at Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger on his part is looking at managing a national team to the world cup in 2022. Rather than stay on as Director of Football, he believes that his legacy would be cemented with a world cup birth.

“It would be exciting to go to the world cup and the European championships with a national team, after years of playing league games,” Arsene Wenger has said before.
He has also served as a commentator for soccer television channels, an option that he might continue pursuing after leaving the Emirates.
