URA FC head coach Sam Simbwa Bamweyana and Kirinya Jinja SS FC midfielder David Bagoole have been named the Pilsner coach and player of the month of March.
Bagoole who scored what turned out to be the winner in Kirinya’s 2-1 win away to SC Villa last month, beat off competition from URA’s Cromwel Rwothomio and KCCA FC anchor-man Nicholas Kasozi.
Bagoole thus becomes the fifth winner of the accolade this season after teammate Joel Madondo, Mbarara’s Paul Mucurezi and Onduparaka duo of Gaddafi Gadinho and Rashid Toha who won the award in October, November, December and February respectively.
On the other hand, Simbwa’s side accumulated 7 points, scored 4 and only conceded once to rise to third place on the 16 team log. He beat KCCA FC’s Mike Mutebi and Wasswa Bbosa of Tooro United.
In his remarks Simbwa thanked Pilsner for recognising his efforts and dedicated the award to his mother currently at Butabika.
“I am happy that finally I have been recognized and named the coach of the month of March.”
This is great for us in terms of motivation, I thank my players and assistants for the support and I reward I will give them the money.”

Both the winners of player and coach of the month walk away with a cash prize of UGX One Million (Shs 1m) and an award.
