Hanson Baliruno arrives for the fundraiser

Hanson Baliruno, one of Uganda’s top musicians in the western world has started a drive to fundraise for disadvantaged children in Uganda. The artiste who recently returned to settle and start performing in the country says he understands what the children go through.

“I have been there before and if I had more people to help, life would have been easier for me. Let me do the best for the children of Uganda,” Baliruno said at a function to donate to children at Kamuli Lubaawo School in Naalya.

He took several items for children that included scholastic materials, food, and a cake which they cut with him on his birthday on Friday.

Hanson Baliruno also sang songs for the children and together they sang the national school anthem.

Baliruno has been living in Sweden and is the biggest Ugandan artiste within the entire Ugandan diaspora.

A press release he issued out at the beginning of the function read as follows;

KAMULI-LUBAAWO

PRESS RELEASE

24th November 2017

Today is a special day for me. It is my birthday but also it is a day that I add another significant milestone in my life and in my career as a musician.

I am here to give something to the children of the school.

My small contribution is from the bottom of my heart.

It however builds onto what I have been doing since 2005.

I have been raising support for school children and orphans in different parts of the world. More especially in Europe.

I have done this work in Germany and I have started it in Uganda.

Our lives can get a smile when we give. Giving is happiness and receiving is happiness.

I thank the administration of the school for enabling me to achieve this. I thank my team and the media for their support.

Thank you

May God Bless You
