At the curve/bend between Kabalagala and Kansanga is a modern salon with all the facilities to do men, women and kids hair. Barbie’z salon has been in existence since 2005 and has built a name of quality service over the years.
We spoke to Mr.Jonathan Kaka the proprietor of the salon who explained to us how they have been able to serve their customers for this long.
Monday Times: What exactly does Barbie’z Salon do?
Mr.Jonathan Kaka: We do men’s haircuts and women’s hairstyles. We also do haircuts and hairstyles for kids. We do braids, dreadlocks, ear piercing, make up, facial, body scrub, treatment, pedicure and manicure (nails), and many more. We host students of beauty courses to do internship at our salon.
We also have bridal services for both men and women. We can do the whole bridal entourage including the maids, the flower girls and the page boys.
Monday Times: What makes you different from other Salons?
Mr.Jonathan Kaka: We are experienced, because we have been in business for over ten years. We have seen all sorts of hairstyles and haircuts come and we know how to do a wide variety of hairstyles.
Our prices are affordable and we have excellent customer care.
Monday Times: What are your working hours and days?
Mr.Jonathan Kaka: We work from 8am until 10pm, Monday to Saturday. On Sunday we work from 8am to 8pm.

Monday Times: What advice do you give someone who is struggling with black spots on the face?
Mr.Jonathan Kaka: We have special creams which we can recommend if the person comes to us.
Monday Times: Do you have mobile services?
Mr.Jonathan Kaka: Yes we do have mobile services. We can go and dress your hair where you are.
