Monday Times: A good afternoon to you today. We have learnt about Bbunga School of Beauty and Lifestyle and would like to understand what services you offer to the public. Could you please enlighten us?
Management of Bbunga School of Beauty and Lifestyle: We offer Diploma and Certificate Courses in Cosmetology and Hair Dressing; in Tailoring and Fashion Designing; In Catering and Hotel Management; in Human Resource Management; and in Business Administration.
We also have short courses in Hair Styling; Braiding and Weaving; Dreadlocks; Entrepreneurship; and Computer Studies.
In all these courses, we empower our students with content through our curricula, that makes them build capacity not only to perform but also to manage themselves as entrepreneurs in these areas of training.
Monday Times: Okay. So there are some beauty schools around, now how different are you from those who are around?
Management of Bbunga School of Beauty and Lifestyle: We have a hostel, which many other Beauty Schools do not have. This means that someone can come from up country and study with us, and then go back for holidays.
We also have an integration element, where we merge the skilling courses with the business courses and specifically in the Human Resource function/area, which makes our graduates more competitive in the job market. So we basically consider three courses: Human Resource Management, Business Administration and Information Technology.
Our short courses in Human Resource Management comprise of HR planning metric and analytics, Competence-based job analysis, Talent sourcing and psychometrics, Compensation & Reward management, Performance management and control, Human Resource development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Data management, analysis and interpretation, Customer Service and Client relationship Management, Leadership and governance, Advocacy and networking, Business management skills for SMEs and other HR related short course.
We have a bursary scheme, so the amount of money one has to pay for a course can be adjusted. For the long courses, we tend to have a half bursary. There is a lot of flexibility in the fees arrangements with us.
