Singer Bebe Cool has turned down a prospective battle with long-time rival Jose Chameleone. The battle which was being planned by Promoter Balaam was expected to be the biggest entertainment event this year. However Bebe Cool is alleged to have asked for hundreds of millions of shillings to appear at the battle. Other sources claim the ‘mbozi za malwa’ singer preferred to organize the concert by himself because he figured out that Balaam would make too much money while paying them ‘peanuts.’ Both reports could not be independently verified.

Another theory doing rounds is that Bebe Cool feared Chameleone, who had asked for two different lines to be set up for their fans to throng the concert venue. Chameleone had counted on having longer lines than Bebe Cool.

“Those are just rumors. Maybe the timing is not right, but when it is, those two will battle,” a source close to Promoter Balaam’s camp intimated to this newspaper.

Since the aborted plot, Balaam has shifted the money he had planned to invest to another concert due at Namboole Stadium soon. The concert dubbed Ekyeppukulu Ekyebyeewunyo 2018 is expected to attract at least 40,000 people to the stadium. Started by Promoter Abbey Musinguzi (Abitex) a few years ago, Ekyeppukulu is one of the biggest shows at a stadium level each year. This year it will take place on 24th June 2018. Entrance is 7,000 shillings only.
