Dove FC and UPDF FC were knocked out of the FUFA Big League play offs as Kyetume and Kansai Plascon secured the place in the finals.
Kansai Plascon knocked out resilient UPDF 1(5):1(4) on penalties.
Kansai took the lead in the 82nd minute thanks to Henry Kitegenyi’s superb header. Ten minutes later, UPDF equalized through Muwonge Amos’s goal.
The game winner was decoded from the penalty kicks.
On the other hand, Kyetume and Dove FC also went into penalties after drawing 2-all in normal time.
Kyetume broke the deadlock in the 35th minute after Wahab Lwanga scored an own goal. Twelve minutes into the second half, Richard Kyamanywa equalized for Dove FC. 78 minutes later Kyetume reclaimed the lead thanks to Mumbere Ali Ngong’s beautiful goal.
In the 87th minute, Dove FC were awarded a penalty and Hussein simply showed class in taking it. The game went straight to penalties.
Kyetume came out as winners after beating Dove FC 3-2.
Kyetume and Kansai Plascon will face off on Saturday at 2pm to decide who joins Proline and Wakiso Giants in the StartTimes Uganda Premier League.
Proline FC and Wakiso Giants FC confirmed their promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after winning both the Rwenzori and Elgon Groups respectively.
The two sides will face off in the final game of the division, to determine the overall winner on Saturday at 4pm in Lugogo.
