MP Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has started age-limit consultations in  a bid to show government that people of Kyadondo East (his constituency) disagree with the proposed constitutional ammendment.

Kyagulanyi  who was clad in red- the colour used in “togikwatako” campaign, moved from Lusanja, to  Kiteezi, Wampeewo and Gayaza on Saturday asking people for their views on the controversial bill.

The legislator attracted thousands of people to the consultation meetings and he posted that out of the large crowd, only one person was in support of the bill.

“We went to the voters of Kyadondo East today to seek their opinion on whether to ammend article 102(b) of the constitution. Of all the consultation rallies we held in Lusanja, Kiteezi, Wampeewo and Gayaza attended by thousands of people, only one person (particularly in Lusanja) supported the removal of age limit,” posted Kyagulanyi.

He also added that apart from that one person, all the other multitudes want the constitution to remain intact.

Bobi Wine has promised to stand his ground to defend the constitution and remain incorruptible, despite any threats that may arise.

The ‘Bikwase Kyagulanyi’ singer has  since, his inauguration to the floor of Parliament, expressed negative sentiments towards the scrapping of presidential age limit from the Ugandan constitution.

MPs were directed by the Speaker of Parliament early this month, to make consultations from the voters about the age-limit debate and to get their stand on the issue.
