Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi on Friday 26th failed to honour police summons issued against him on Thursday.

Bobi Wine was expected to report to Police CID headquarters in Kibuli, to record a statement for allegedly inciting violence and unlawful assembly in defiance of police guidelines during the preparation of his concert which was scheduled for Easter Monday.

Bobi Wine was represented by his Lawyers who said the legislator was unable to make it due to the short notice given to him.

However, Bobi Wine will today appear at the CID headquarters in Kampala to answer accusations of inciting violence.

Bobi Wine escaped house arrest at his home in Magere last week even though it was heavily surrounded by police.

Bobi Wine managed to leave his home to attend the funeral of a prominent politician in Busoga, Eastern Uganda.

Addressing the crowd at the funeral, he explained why he had to escape the ‘prison’ his house had become, clarifying that he remained a law abiding citizen despite being forced to escape prison.

“I had to come because Busoga is my home. I sneaked out of my home which is now a prison. But I do not support escaping from prison. I am a law-abiding citizen. I got out because it was a violation of the law and against my rights,” he said to cheers.

The police had earlier confirmed that Bobi Wine had been placed under preventive house arrest.

Bobi Wine who is fast establishing himself as a presidential aspirant when next polls are held has been hassled by the government due to his opposition to President Yoweri Museveni.
