Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine has warned politicians against using People Power Movement as a stepping stone but use it to take down President Museveni.
This was during the launch of the pressure group’s red beret campaign as their main symbol.
“Some of you are MPs from different Opposition political parties but you don’t know that you are just comfortable in the captivity President Museveni has put us [in]. Tell me if Dr Kizza Besigye or Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu or any other Opposition politician can hold any event unless President Museveni has granted them to do so,” he added.
His revelation comes at a time when most opposition politicians deemed as ‘failed’ claim to be part of Bobi Wine’s political success.
Some politicians in the recent past threatened to sue Bobi Wine after they missed out on the People Power ‘cabinet’ he unveiled at his residence in Magere.
Manjiya County MP, John Baptist Nambeshe said some people were taking advantage of the pressure group to build their careers.
The People Power Movement has gained momentum after Bobi Wine’s victories in Bugiri and Arua Municipalities campaigns for Asuman Basaalirwa and Kassiano Wadri.
