When he was still campaigning to be president, Donald J. Trump said that he would not touch his salary but donate it. He insisted that he did not need a salary.

As the public continues to wonder if Trump ever kept his promise, he has written a cheque to also donate to the National Park Service, to help repair monuments.

Accordingly, his post reads:

“I promised YOU I would not take a dime of salary as your President. I donate the entire $400,000! It is my honor to give $100,000 to the National Park Service to help repair and restore our GREAT National Monuments. So important to our American History! Thank You.”

The issue of America’s historical monuments continues to prevail as the recent riots saw many protestors bring down many statues or people or situations that were viewed as historically unjust.

Trump has pushed his campaign along the lines of keeping promises in a world of politics where promises are rarely kept.
