Cameroon were crowned champions of the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Guinea 5-3 on penalties in the final at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
This was the second meeting between the two West African nations in the tournament.
Cameroon won the first meeting 2-0 during their Group B match at the Chamazi Stadium and went into the final as favourites.
Guinea were contesting their first final ever in the tournament having beaten Nigeria 10-9 on penalties in the semifinals. Cameroon also overcame Angola 4-3 on penalties to qualify for their second final.
Neither team was able to breach the other’s defence in normal time forcing the game to go to penalties to decide a winner.
Saidou Alioum Moubarak scored the winning penalty for Cameroon, who converted all their penalties. Mohamed Sacko missed the fourth spot-kick for the Guineans.
The victory saw Cameroon claim their second AFCON U17 title after their triumph in 2003.
