A new survey released by Geopoll has show that Capital Radio Station is the leading English language radio station in central Uganda. In the survey, other English language stations that follow include KFM and XFM.
Capital Radio Scores 11% while KFM scores 8%.XFM is in third position of English language stations in the region.
For Language stations, CBS Radio continues to lead with 12% followed by Radio Simba at 8%.Galaxy FM ranks third with 7% while Salt FM comes number four with 6%.
Akaboozi, Beat FM and Bukedde tie at number five with 5% each.
Capital Radio broadcasting on 91.3 MegaHertz was launched in 1994. It is owned by Capital Radio Limited, which also owns Beat FM radio. Since inception it has maintained steady lead of the English language radio stations market segment in the country.
Geopoll conducts its survey every three months (quarter) in each year. The first quarter runs from January to March, the second quarter runs from April to June, the third quarter runs from July to September and the fourth quarter runs from October to December.
Radio research in Uganda remains controversial as many players tend to prefer they lead.
