Cheptegei joins elite sports club with Laureus World Sportsman nomination

Sprinter Joshua Cheptegei has joined the elite sports club of the world’s most prize athletes, after having been nominated for the Laureus World Sportsman nomination.

Cheptegei, who recently defended his title of 5,000 meters in Monaco, France and also broke the world record that had been held by Kenenisa Bekele’s for 16 years is pitted against Lewis Hamilton and Rafael Nadal.

Currently, Lionel Messi and Lewis Hamilton jointly hold the Laureus World Sportsman Award for 2020.

Joshua Cheptegei has enjoyed a streak of success over the last few years with the sportsman being one of the most successful African athletes today.
