Deogratious: I go by the name Deogratious.I am a gospel artist.I like to say that I do what we call positive music and am based in hip hop and R&b. I do both genres.
Laira Nakyanzi: When did you start doing music
Deogratious: I started doing or thinking of being a musician way back in 2012.But commercially it was 2015 after releasing a single called “don’t give me away”.That is when I got confidence that music could be my calling.
Laira Nakyanzi: Why did you choose to do music as a career?
Deogratious: I think music chose me because I never knew that a day will come when I would want to be a musician.Because I remember in my childhood I was a headache to my choir master in church I didn’t like the choir thing so I used to miss choir practice deliberately. So as i grew up I found love in music and so I settled for that.
Laira Nakyanzi: Who inspired you?
Deogratious: I was inspired by Tyler Williams in a movie called let it shine.I know you expected some one big and this sounds funny but it created a strong foundation in my music career. So after all that, I got to learn of more who inspire me, the likes of Eminem,J Cole and many more others.
Laira Nakyanzi: What type of language do you sing with?
Deogratious: I use basically English and some Luganda to be specific.
Laira Nakyanzi: How many songs do you have so far?

Laira Nakyanzi: Do you write your own music?
Deogratious: Yes I do write my own rhymes, but then I seek help where necessary.I believe two heads are better than one.

Laira Nakyanzi: What challenges have you faced in the music industry?
Deogratious: the only challenge am facing right now is promotion and finance, though many people appreciate my work but no one has yet come out to say “I wanna sponsor your music or sign you up”.
Laira Nakyanzi: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Deogratious: Five years from now I see my self far from my expectations, hitting shows outside the country.I see myself sharing stages with big names.Living a life I never thought I would, besides being a musician
Laira Nakyanzi: if you were not a musician what would you be?
