The suspended Democratic Party (DP) re-union caravans are set to resume early 2019. The caravans were suspended by the DP president Norbert Mao October 2nd due to the improper behavior that was shown by some of the DP supporters during the caravan in Masaka.
Gerald Seranda, the General Secretary of DP says all the issues that led to the suspension of the re-union caravans have been settled.
Seranda also said that the caravans will only be organized by the chosen committee and a few leaders in DP.
“The caravans have been scheduled to take place in early February with one to take place in Jinja and the other in the United Kingdom (UK).” said Seranda.
Charles Waswa, the secretary UYD has advised Democratic Party that this re-union was not meant for DP only, but also for UYD and other opposition members hence everyone has the right to talk about the re-union.
Whether peace will reign this time or not, is a question that still hangs in air until the caravans take place.
