The speaker of Parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has urged Ugandans to embrace family business as a way of reducing unemployment rate in the country.
The call was made during a meeting between Jinja Business Forum [JIF] and Rebecca Kadaga at Euromera Industries in Walukuba Masese Division.
Ms Kadaga visited several industries like Nile Agro, Nilus Group Limited, a tobacco processing company, among others.
She said most Indians have been successful in businesses because they embrace family businesses.
“In Uganda when the owner of the company dies it also dies because the children prefer selling everything and get quick money which is not the case with Indians,”Kadaga said.
The parliament speaker added that Madvani group of companies is a family business which has been sustained for many years and Nile Agro group which has 28 sister-factories just in a period of sixteen years.
