Kampala is filled with excitement as the Hijab and Kanzu event tickets go on sale. The premier elegant Islamic fashion event takes place this Saturday February 2nd 2018 at Hotel Africana.

At Leilah Fashions on Wilson Road, and at the Sales Office of Hotel African in Kampala, several people are lining up to buy tickets in order not to miss the event. Reports from the organizers say the mad rush for tickets is because of the success of last year’s event although they are ready to avail more tickets so that the fans of the event can be able to get them.
Hosted by Faridah Nakazibwe (of NTV) and Abbey Mukiibi (of CBS and Delta TV) the event promises to continue with the sparkle of the previous years.
Zahara Totto of Spark TV shall host the Red Carpet section.
The Hijab and Kanzu event shall showcase different Hijab designs from a variety of designers and boutiques. It is planned as a red carpet experience for a Halal fun event.
According to the organizers, Peace Care Initiative “the purpose of the event is to celebrate elegant Islamic style and fashion. Designed as a social event, it attracts both Muslims and non-Muslims who come to appreciate the vast scope and finesse of Islamic fashion.”
Apart from the fashion show, artistes Omulangira Ssuuna, Aziz Azion and several others are expected to perform.
Jeff Musoke, an entertainment expert says the most important aspect of the Hijab and Kanzu night is its uniqueness.
“Although I am not a Muslim, I cannot see another entertainment event that is as distinct and unique as the Hijab and Kanzu night,” Musoke told this newspaper.
This year a large number of patrons are expected to attend like it has been for the last two years.
Tickets are going for Uganda Shillings 30,000 (ordinary), Uganda Shillings 100,000 (VIP) and Uganda Shillings 1,500,000 (table).
Dress code is Islamic Dress code and the guiding principle of the event is a night of unity bringing all faiths together to appreciate Islamic Fashion.
