Fans of rapper Fik Fameica have attacked the ‘my property’ superstar, demanding that his awards are withdrawn. Fik Fameica has over the last one year enjoyed chart success with hits such as ‘Kutama’ and ‘My property.’
Despite his success, some of his ‘fans’ have invaded various social media groups demanding that the artiste is stripped of all the awards he has got so far, for ‘stealing songs.’
It all started with Fameica taking a bit of Kenyan duo Gidi Gidi and Maji Maji’s early 2000s hit single ‘Atoti’ for his ‘Kutama.’ The song and its raunchy message took Fik Fameica places.
When South African rapper Casper Novyest came to Uganda, he praised Fik Fameica for being different. As he ranted on his twitter account, several ‘fans’ went on attack asking him to carry Fameica with him to South Africa, because they are tired of him ‘stealing songs.’
Fik Fameica and his management team have however played it cool. One of his aides speaking to this newspaper said,
“This is the handiwork of our competitors. You know how the game is. We have taken over and they are jealous. There is no stopping us now.”
If there is anything to go by, the fact that Fik Fameica is the only artiste being used by Africell for their current promotions could signal the source of animosity.
