Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Spokesperson Semujju Ibrahim Nganda has said that FDC will not be able to take part in a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni which is being organized by the Inter party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) this week.
The meeting will be held at Kololo Airstrip.
IPOD is a forum for the leading political parties in Uganda which have Members of Parliament. Its leadership is revolving and currently the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party is the chair of the organization.
Semujju says that FDC will not participate in the meeting because of their fundamental disagreement with President Museveni. This leaves Asuman Basalirwa of JEEMA and Nobert Mao of the Democratic Party (DP) as some of the parties who will take part in the meeting.
“We shall not participate in that meeting. But if something good comes out of it, we shall be happy and congratulate them,” Semujju says.
Justin Kasule Lumumba, Secretary General of the NRM says that the problems that were in the elections period will be addressed during the IPOD meeting.
