Properties worth millions of shillings have perished in the fire that gutted Namasagali College in Namasagali sub county I Kamuli district.
According to the Principal of the School Mr Daniel Bazira, the fire started in the wee hours of the night at round 2:00am.
“We were shocked to see flames running through the adminsitration block and food store.It was a devastating sight,” Bazira said.
He suspects electricity to have caused the fire that destroyed administration block and food store.
Mr Bazira said they have lost documents, 30 bags of posho, 16 bags of beans and other items
He said by the time fire brigade reached at the scene, he had mobilized over 600 students who extinguished the fire before it spread to other places.
Mr Bazira said they have managed to rescue some items and no one has been injured in the fire.
Mr Bazira said he will convene a meeting of board of directors to pave a way forward as school activities continues.
