Britain’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) on Monday said that they have concluded the  search on the missing Premier League star, Emiliano Sala.

AAIB said they have found Sala’s body inside the wreckage of the plane on seabed near Guernsey.

DAILY POST had reported that the wreckage of the aircraft which disappeared over the English Channel in January, carrying the Cardiff City striker and his pilot was found on Sunday.

A privately-funded underwater search had begun on Sunday, several days after investigators said they found two seat cushions on the French coast that likely belonged to the aircraft.

In a statement realized on Monday, Britain’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch said “Based on analysis of ROV (underwater remotely operated vehicle) video footage, the AAIB investigators on  board the vessel concluded that the object is wreckage from the missing Piper Malibu aircraft.”

“Tragically, in video footage from the ROV, one occupant is visible amidst the wreckage. The AAIB is now considering the next steps, in consultation with the families of the pilot and passenger, and the  police.”

Meanwhile, Sala’s father, Horacio Sala, had earlier said he had remained in shock after the missing plane carrying his son was found.

The Cardiff City forward’s flight disappeared after the Argentine completed a transfer from Nantes

The plane that was carrying Emiliano Sala was found in the English Channel on Sunday morning, following a two-week search for the aircraft that was carrying the missing footballer.

Sala was aboard the Piper Malibu aircraft on January 21 when he flew from Nantes to Wales after completing a £15 million ($19.8m) transfer to Cardiff City.

The Argentine had flown back to France to say goodbye to his team-mates and, on his way back to England, the plane carrying the forward and pilot David Ibbotson disappeared from radar close to  the Channel Islands.

Sala joined Nantes in 2015 after previously featuring for Orleans, Niort and Caen, and the forward went on to make 132 appearances for the club while scoring 48 goals.

After scoring 13 goals across all competitions to start the season with Nantes, Sala became Cardiff’s record signing when he was acquired by Neil Warnock’s side in January.
