Bukedea Town Council and Doves All Stars on Friday played out to a 1-all draw at Barokoro playground, Zombo district in their first game of the season.

Despite dominating the entire game, Bukedea TC were left searching for an equalizer when Olu gave the hosts a lead in the 33rd minute.

The Bukedea based side’s definition for terminology is attacking midfielder, Innocent Maduka.

Despite not scoring, the midfielder missed a lot of chances attributed to the flooding pitch. His fellow Nigerian forward, Kenneth Makama was a big threat to Doves as he also had a lot of missed opportunity which ended in the ‘lake’.

Bukedea TC returned with vigor in the second half and Hassan Kintu finally found the back of the net in the 83rd minute despite dominting the entire second half. They nearly sealed in the 92nd minute when Maduka’s ball to an empty net was diverted by water.

With what he saw in the pitch, Bukedea TC head coach, Anthony Ssekitoke said that the club is not a big league side but rather a Premier league side.

“We missed a lot of chances not because we don’t have finsihsers but the pitch was so floody and water could divert the ball each and every time. We would have scored a minimum of 5 goals but in every attempt, the ball could’t run because of water so I hope in the next games we shall perfom to our best in better fields than this Barokoro ground,” he said.

Some of Bukedea’s newly signed players, Innocent Maduka, Ivan Okello, Jackson Obwana, Kenneth Makama left the entire management impressed after showing class in 90 minutes.

Bukedea TC face recently relegated Paidha Black Angels on Sunday while Doves All Stars face Kataka FC. Both games will be played in Barokoro playground, Zombo district.
