The second tier of Uganda football is coming to an end with teams fighting for survival.
In the Elgon group, Nebbi Central, Entebbe FC and JMC Hippos have been confirmed to play in next season’s FUFA Regional league.
Nebbi Central collected just 11 points in the 19 games played with a game left to play (at home against UPDF). The Nebbi based side were the first to be relegated.
Jinja Municipal Council Hippos garnered 21 points while Entebbe FC gathered 16 points.
Amuka Bright Stars and Kataka will face off on Thursday in a game that will decide who remains in the league next season and who goes back to the Regional League. Amuka Bright Stars will need nothing less than 3 points to get off the red line while Kataka need just a point for survival.
A draw between these two teams on Thursday will see Kataka jump to safety while Amuka will battle it out in the Regional League next season.
Elsewhere, Bukedea Town Council FC’s chances of remaining in the league became slim after they lost to rivals Light SS in the Teso derby.

However, the Makers and Shakers proved too big to be relegated after winning back to back games against Amuka Bright Stars in Lira and Doves All Stars at Emokori playground in Bukedea.
The home win against Doves All Stars was enough to seal a spot in next season’s FUFA Big League.
Bukedea TC were awarded 3 points and 3 goals after Nebbi Central failed to make it to Bukedea for the final game of the season.
League debutants Light SS FC on the other hand sit comfortably in the fifth position after scooping 28 points in the 20 games played. The Lighters won seven of their league games, drawing 7 and losing just 4 in their first season.

UPDF FC’s fate of the play offs will be decided on Thursday as they travel to Nebbi to lock horns with Nebbi Central. Doves All Stars are also in the verge of securing the play offs if only they win against Wakiso Giants with more than 3 goals and UPDF also losing to Nebbi Central with more than a goal.

Wakiso Giants secured an automatic promotion to the Premier League but will face off with either Proline FC or Kansai Plascon to decide the Big League champion.
In the Rwenzori group, Proline is battling it out with Kansai Plascon to secure an automatic promotion with just a point separating the two teams.
With just a game to play, Proline is leading the table with 39 points while Kansai Plascon is second with 38 points.
In the relegation zone, Bumate United collected just a single point in the 18 games played so far while Ntinda United also gathered 11 points.
Kiira United only managed 12 points. The three teams have been confirmed to play in the Regional league next season while Kireka United’s fate hangs in balance. A lose for Water FC in their last game and two wins for the Kireka based side in their last games will guarantee them safety.
