UCU Lady Cardinals secured the final slot for the championship playoff of the 2018/19 FUFA Women Elite League season despite suffering a defeat in their last regular season game against Olila High School on Wednesday.

The University side suffered a 1-0 loss to Olila High School in Soroti but that did not deter them from making the cut to the playoffs.

Susan Atim scored a late penalty for Olila to register maximum points.

Prior to the game, UCU Lady Cardinals were in second place in Elizabeth group with 27 points, three ahead of Olila High School.

The Mukono based outfit had a superior goal difference of 14 compared to Olila’s seven.

UCU Lady Cardinals, therefore, join Kampala Queens, Kawempe Muslim Ladies, and Lady Doves as the four teams.

Kampala Queens who finished top in Elizabeth group will take on Lady Doves while UCU Lady Cardinals will play defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies.
