The State Minister for Information Communication Technology, Hon. Idah Nantaba who had refused to make her statement regarding the murder of Ronald Ssebulime on March 24th secretly appeared to record her statement.
Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga told journalists at a media briefing on Monday that they were able to obtain Nantaba’s statement over the weekend.
Nantaba turned down police summons to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters of in Kibuli to record, a statement, saying President, Yoweri Museveni had advised her to stay indoors.
Enanga said they were expecting the file in which three police officers are accused of handcuffing Ssebulime before they gunned him down to return from the Directorate of Public Prosecution-DPP.
The accused officers are in police custody while their accomplice identified as Robert Cherotich is still at large.
Ssebulime was buried on March 27 at his ancestral home in Mubende District. He was a widower with four children. He met his death as he was going to visit his children at St Andrews Kaggwa in Mukono District.
Naggalama Police swung into action after they received a distress call from Nantaba indicating that Ssebulime was trailing with intentions of eliminating her.
Investigators retrieved the deceased’s bag containing food and eats he was talking to his children.
