Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has set aside the whole of next Monday (December 18) to debate the proposals to amend the constitution and remove age-limit.
The extraordinary sitting indicates how serious the speaker holds the ongoing process to amend the constitution.
Kadaga announced to parliament today that she was notifying them in time so that they prepare to discuss the report of the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.
Additional Kadaga says, the debate will start in the morning at 9am.
“I am giving notice that we shall convene on Monday at nine o’clock in the morning so that we can have sufficient time for debate, Therefore, Parliament will convene to receive both the report and the Minority Report. Thereafter, debate will ensure,” Ms Kadaga said.
She advised MPs to read the report through the weekend so that they are not taken by surprise.
