Television star Kats of NBS has commenced investigations into the illicit wealth of local musicians. A few weeks ago, in an interview with A Pass, Kats inquired how the musician and other musicians who make little money from music, drive posh cars and live opulent lives.
“There is something you people are not revealing. You drive very expensive cars, live in massive palaces but the music is not adding up. You cannot finance that lifestyle with music. There is something you are not saying,” Kats said.
Fans of A Pass and other musicians mentioned in the interview interpreted this to mean that those musicians were doing some illegal business. By the end of the interview, Kats stated that he would get to the bottom of the matter.
A Pass on his part explained that there are direct and indirect revenues that musicians make.
“We make money from writing songs, producing for others, concerts, downloads of our music, YouTube views and so many other ways. We can maintain these lifestyles. My suit is three million shillings. I have many more because I make money. A lot of money,” A Pass said.
Sources at NBS television say the newsroom has also began putting together an investigation into this, for which Kats will lend his support. Lately NBS is doing ground breaking investigations, including one that netted a lecturer who wanted to sleep with a student to change her marks.
