Kery Executive Salon, located in Kireka has completely changed the lives of the people in the area and beyond. In our visit to Kireka this week, we stopped by Lico Holdings Building, where the salon is located. It was very easy for us to find it because it is right opposite Shell Kireka.
Some of the hairstyles done at Kery Executive Salon
In the corridor of the first floor of the building, we found two ladies who had come to do their hair. They told us that they come from Seeta at least twice a month to make their hair at the salon. This was the first evidence we found of the good quality of service offered by the Salon.Their slogan hair is our passion is a sign of their love for the art of making people’s hair look beautiful.
When we entered Room A-3, we found a very beautiful place, with all the tools and equipment needed to run a modern salon in Uganda today. The place is executive. Some customers were being served while others were watching television.
The workers were very friendly and allowed to speak to us about the work. One lady with a beautiful smile said “we are very organized. We love our customers and we work so hard to make them happy.”
Later we found out the services that the Salon has.First they told us that they cater for men, women and children. “People of all ages can come here and be served well,” one worker said. They also have pedicure and manicure and all kinds of hairstyles. One of the things they were proud about was that they can do dreadlocks and offer bridal services, which many people are beginning to want these days.
Women Section of the Salon
“Whatever you want, those people have it,” a man at the nearby internet café said, when we asked him about the quality of the Salon.
Because customers prefer one stop beauty centres these days, the management of Kery Executive Salon told us that they can provide beauty products that their customers want. They have a whole shop located at Nateete Shopping Centre, that also caters for that. “If anyone wants to buy beauty products, we can get it for them.”
Men section of the Salon
Another good thing we found about the Salon, is that they are able to take their services to the people where they are. “If someone wants us to cut his hair at his home or his office, we can go there. We just need to agree on how we do it. Even women. You might have children at home and you do not want to leave. We shall come and do your hair at home or at work,” another employee of the Salon told us.
When we asked about the price, the manager smiled and said “we are flexible. We are here for our customers. We understand how hard it is to get money these days. So we talk and negotiate then we give the best.”
Kery Executive Salon works from 7.30am to 10pm every day. They also work from Monday to Sunday. The reason they open very early and close very late, is that for some people, they are only free very early or very late. Many people are also free on the weekend.
Like all beauty experts, we wanted to know from the workers of Kery Executive Salon; how can someone become and remain beautiful. “You need to eat very well. You should drink a lot of water and juice. Another thing you do is you must rest enough. Finally, use on your body what is good for your body. Do not use make up or oil because another person has used it. Learn your body and apply what works,” the manager said. He also mentioned that for any advice, people could contact them and they would provide it.
We enjoyed our time at Kery Executive Salon. It was one of the best Salons we had ever been to in Kampala.
As we were leaving, we asked them for their contacts, which they said was:
