They have got close to 10 professionals who know what they do and who work with them on a daily basis to make their clients happy.

Asked about her responsibilities in order to satisfy her clients; 1) communicating with clients to clarify visual requirements; 2) ensuring continuity in make-up and liaising with other members of the design team to ensure the overall look/effect is consistent and coherent; 3) maintaining awareness of health and safety issues and legislation; 4) maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of available make-up and beauty products and then sourcing, budgeting and ordering materials and equipment from specialist suppliers; 5) working quickly and accurately in time-pressured conditions plus taking detailed notes and photographs of work, maintaining an up-to-date portfolio of work.

Asked about the qualifications for one to be a make up artist, Mrs Kyazze Peters says, “traditionally, academic qualifications are not as important as creative and practical skills. It is possible to become a make-up artist without a degree or HND. However, entrance is generally becoming formalised and candidates will often undertake a number of specialist HNDs in make-up artistry as a precursor to freelance industry experience and traineeships which we offer here at Kyazze Peters Make up studio.

According to Mrs Kyazze Peters, “To become a make-up artist you’ll need to possess creative flair, practical ability and an up-to-date knowledge of fashion and beauty trends. A make-up artist ensures that models, performers, presenters, or even any ordinary person have a suitable make-up and hairstyles before they appear in front of cameras, public or an audience.”  She adds that if one is good at doing makeup, “you could work in a variety of settings, including: film; live music; photographic shoots; television; theatre among so many others.”

In her message to anyone who would wish to open up a make- up studio, Mrs Kyazze Peters says, “one will need to show: theoretical interest; an understanding of time periods and current fashion; excellent practical make-up and technical skills; good interpersonal and self-promotion skills.”
