President Yoweri Museveni has deployed Captain Emmy Katabazi, an aide to former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi as Deputy Director General of the Internal Security Organization (ISO). Katabazi joins at a time ISO is undergoing an overhaul, following the departure of immediate former Director Kaka Bagyenda.
Katabazi made the announcement on his Facebook page this morning.
“I am humbled to be appointed by HEX The President as DDGISO Glory be to Almighty” Katabazi’s post read.
Emmy Katabazi was notable for his mobilization efforts for Mbabazi in the run up to the last general elections, where the former prime minister stood and lost. Recently, Mbabazi is said to have made up with his former boss President Museveni, with this appointment being seen as one of many given to his former aides.
