FUFA President Moses Magogo surely knows how to handle his critics, if the award given by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to Dr.Lawrence Mulindwa was anything to go by. Mulindwa was given the Presidential Award for his enormous contribution to the growth & development of Football in Uganda on Friday night.
This was reaffirmed on the FUFA social media page last night
“The FUFA Presidential Award goes to Dr Lawrence Mulindwa for his enormous contribution to the growth & development of Football in Uganda” the FUFA post read.
Lawrence Mulindwa’s contribution to the transformation of football cannot be ignored. Besides playing a pivotal role in reforming a Uganda Cranes that everyone else had given up on, Mulindwa has built a stadium that is one of the best in East Africa. He has also nurtured his team Vipers to produce good footballers and increase sponsorship in the game.
For long critics of Moses Magogo have alleged that the two do not see eye to eye, despite both contesting the claims.
Last night’s awards may settle this matter at least for a while.
Other winners were: Vipers Sports Club and Uganda Cranes star midfielder Moses Waiswa, Uganda Christian University (UCU) LAdy Cardinals FC and Crested Cranes goalkeeper Ruth Aturo who were given awards as the best footballers of 2018
