Man City on the brink of losing title defense

Fans of Manchester City are on tenterhooks following a tough stretch of December in which the premier league champions might be unable to defend their title this season.

Gaurdiola’s team has been on the right truck having gone sixteen matches un beaten not until Chelsea broke the un beaten run. From that day City has lost three games in a row having beaten by Crystal palace and Leicester city respectively.

City are currently facing tremendous decline having moved from the 1st position to the 3rd in a space of two weeks only with Liverpool heading the log with 51 point  followed by Tottenham Hotspurs with 45 points. City lies in the 3rd position with 44 points meaning they are seven points behind Liverpool.

Man city are facing a hard time with most of their key players like Fernandinho , Company and Mendy who are currently struggling with injuries and Delph who is also serving a red card he got on Wednesday during the Leicester game at the King power stadium.

The premier league defending champions will face Southampton on Sunday 30th in St Mary’s Stadium at 17:15 East African time.

Southampton is having a home advantage before the game starts has all the players in shape waiting to smash city.

With many saying Man city is out of the title race, the city boss has come out to put away the claims.

“Football is that you are able to win a lot of games and you are able to lose a lot of games. When I was at Barcelona, for one period I lost four games in a row. We are still in the title race.” Gaurdiola said in a press conference on Saturday morning.

The result from Sunday’s game will give a way forward for the club. Like it said, it is hard to defend the premier league trophy let’s wait and see what city is up to.
