Monday Times: Good afternoon Sir. Your restaurant is easily one of the best we have ever been to around Kampala City. What kind of things do you offer here, if you could let our readers know?
Management of Mega Restaurant and Take Away: We have a wide range of food and drinks that our guests tend to enjoy. We have Katogo, Pilau, Pizza, Chicken and Chips, Sumbuusa, Juice, Goats meat, Beef, Sausages, Chaps, Burgers, Fried Fish and Chips, Salads, juice, sodas and water.
Someone can eat here, or can take away their food to eat elsewhere.
Monday Times: Okay. Now what makes you different from the other restaurants which might be in Kampala?
Management of Mega Restaurant and Take Away: Our difference is usually seen by our customers. But in general, our service is very good, our hygiene is excellent. In order to be transparent about our hygiene, we keep an open kitchen unlike others who cook in hiding. When you see where we cook from, you see a very clean environment. Inside the restaurant, there are no flies, and there are no trappings of dirt on the floor or remnants on the tables. We pay keen attention to cleanliness.
We also use disposable plates in order to keep hygiene on point.
Monday Times: What are your opening hours and days?
Management of Mega Restaurant and Take Away: We open from Monday to Sunday, from 7am until late. By 7am breakfast is ready. After breakfast we serve lunch, then we serve supper and close at 10pm or 11pm depending on the presence of customers. If the customers want us to stay on until late, we do so. We can even stay serving them all night.
Monday Times: You talked about breakfast. What is on the menu for breakfast?
Management of Mega Restaurant and Take Away: We have tea, coffee, sumbuusas, chapatis, bread, milk and black tea. We serve all the snacks and we also have Katogo.
Monday Times: There are some people who like delivery. Do you do that as well?
Management of Mega Restaurant and Take Away: Yes we can deliver on order, usually for a group like 50 and above. This is because it is costly to deliver to one person, considering the volume of people we receive every day. We need to be attending to them. We can also deliver to parties on orders for the same food that we make. When we deliver at parties, we can stay and serve.
We give discount of 40% for all mass orders for parties.
Monday Times: With all this wonderful service, how are your prices like?
Management of Mega Restaurant and Take Away: Our prices are affordable and friendly and our food is enough for someone to eat and get satisfied. You cannot find our prices on the market in Kampala.
