Men across the globe have been asked to take their time during the new coronavirus pandemic to stay home and get to know their wives better.

A majority of men in the world have been confined to their homes after their governments issued a stay home order for non-essential workers.

Speaking on Friday during the Labour Day celebrations, The President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta asked men to take time to forge better relations with their families.

“Staying at home is hard and not easy, but this is also a chance to get to know our grandparents and our children at home,” President Uhuru said.

At the same time, he asked men to look at the positive side of things despite the far-reaching effects of the global pandemic.

“Let us not always look at the negatives, there are opportunities to get to know each other now and a lot of good can come from having more acquaintances.”

During the same address, he lauded the essential workers who were working round the clock to battle the virus.

He also castigated a section of social media users who had criticized Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) flowers gift to UK’s health workers.

In no uncertain terms, President Uhuru asked Tweeps to think before they post ‘nonsense on that social media of yours’.

He noted that the move by KEPSA to send flowers made business sense in that it cushioned flower farmers from watching their delicate products wither and die after airlines suspended operations to stem the spread of Covid-19.

President Kenyatta explained that the decision was likely to be in the favour of the vibrant Kenyan flower market once the pandemic is over.
