A few hours after its warning to foreign participants from selected countries of the world from attending conferences in Uganda, the Ministry of Health has stopped such participants from attending the Uganda-Europe business forum. The action was announced by Minister of Health Dr.Jane Ruth Aceng, in a tweet earlier today.

“#Uganda is hosting the UG-EU Business forum tomorrow. Yesterday, we received 22 passengers from the Category 1 countries who were identified by our health workers at the airport. None of them exhibited signs and symptoms of #COVID19. We informed them about our procedure of self quarantine for 14 days. However, they were not willing to undergo the self quarantine. Today, they will return to their home countries. I want to reiterate that Uganda has NO confirmed or suspected case of #COVID19.”

The move to place this measures comes as the world continues to grapple with the Corona virus that has so far killed thousands of people in China, Italy and USA.
