Reverend Isaac Solomon who was reported kidnapped on Sunday in Mukono district has been found.
Rev. Mwesigwa of Kasaka- Gomba in Central Buganda Diocese who also doubles as a student at Uganda Christian University in Mukono was allegedly kidnapped on Sunday evening but his Toyota Raum car was later recovered on Tuesday in Seeta.
However, on Wednesday, the man of God was found at a friend’s home in Soroti though details about circumstances under which he was kidnapped and how he ended up in Soroti are still scanty.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the development but he would give more details after recording a statement from the man of God. “Father Mwesigwa Isaac is alive,” Owoyesigyire said on Wednesday morning.
He added: “[He was] recovered from Soroti at a friend’s place.”
Rev Mwesigwa, was reportedly abandoned by the kidnapers at St Peter’s Cathedral in Soroti town at about 4 am on Wednesday.
He was later received by Church of Uganda Archbishop Stanley Ntagali, who was in the area for a pastoral activity.
Archbishop Ntagali handed Rev Mwesigwa to police at Soroti Police Station where he is expected to record a statement.
