Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho says it is highly unlikely that they can catch up with Man City after his team received a 2-1 beating from Man City.

The controversial manager said that the referee should have awarded his side a penalty and they could have won the game.

“My first reaction is I feel sorry for referee Michael Oliver because he had a very good match but unfortunately he made an important mistake. The result was made with a big penalty not given [on Ander Herrera]. That would have been 2-2 with 20 minutes to go,” Mourinho said.

Pep Guardiola Man City manager criticized Mourinho for blaming the referee.

“He needs to learn how to lose. I do not think we should be blaming referees for our losses all the time,” Guardiola said.

Manchester City now lead by 11 points, and there are all indications that it is on the way to grabbing the title for this year.
