Man U manager José Mourinho has lashed out at critics who are excited because of his team’s loss at Huddersfield. The loss which made a dent in the otherwise good start of the season shook the confidence of fans. It also elicited commentary from all corners about whether Mourinho was no longer special.
The loss was the team’s first of the season. It led Man U to slip to five points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City. Mourinho expects to catch up with Man City and overtake them to finish top of the league.
“To play badly and lose matches, I think that can happen again. It happens during a season. You cannot play well all the time; you cannot win all the time; you cannot even be lucky all the time. So to lose again, I think it is going to happen but in terms of the attitude that we didn’t like and knowing the players and what good people they are, I believe it was an isolated case,” Mourinho said.
He added that critics should not be so excited about this result because they might not see it happen quite often again.
“Everyone is excited and saying this and that, but this might not happen again, so they should be more cautious,” Mourinho said.
